I cross stitch this little ornament years ago. Today I added a tatted edge with sparkly beads. Added a hanger and it is ready for the tree. The designer of the pattern is Pamela Byrd Smith “ The Prairie Schooler”. Single thread over one thread.

The beautiful shuttles from Rita Richmond.

My back is in pain right now so there is not a lot I can do at the moment.  My son Ryan says it is old lady back pain. I can cross stitch so I am working on making an Christmas ornaments designed by Satsuma Street Jody Rice.  I love her kits! Everything you need is included to make the ornament , beads, thread, chart, perforated paper and sequins and all the designs are cute. In another older post you can see orange cat one which I love. It turned out so pretty. Here is the Santa one in the picture.

There are also Nutcracker designs too. You can find them on Etsy. What else is great about the kits is ….they are only $14.00!!!

This is what I will be working on for now. One is my Blue Corn Cafe’ pullover sweater designed by Alice Starmore. The pattern is from her OOP booklet called “American Portraits”. I started this sweater last Spring but when the weather got too warm I put my needles away. Now that the cooler weather is back out comes my knitting needles. I knit in the evening so I can stay awake.

During the day I will be working on my bobbin lace and make a few Christmas ornaments starting with ornaments designed by Louise West. You can order them directly from her.  These ornaments have spangles so there will be some sparkle.

Eventually I will be making a few cross stitch ornaments too. My brother lives in Florida and I have found a couple Flamingo ornaments. I have seen some Christmas ornament kits by Satsuma Street that I want to make.

   I am never bored!!

More Halloween theme posts. I just finished cross stitching this witch. Before I started stitching her I painted some color with some gold on the material. I like how she turned. She will be made into an ornament eventually. The pattern is from “Just Cross Stitch” 2015. Pattern designed by Giulia Punti Antichi. Another picture of my witch finished.

In the other picture is a necklace I made a few years ago. The Halloween charms I have collected over the years and Halloween colored beads that I strung on straight pins. I used a black chain to add to the look of Halloween. Looks like Halloween to me.

Halloween is coming

I have been thinking about Halloween so I have been decorating and making cross stitch Halloween ornaments. In my pictures I am showing here are some of my decorating Halloween decor. Some are ceramics I did years ago and I lite them up for you. I have some Glitterville mugs that my friend Erin Holloway gifted me. I love them and the are the center piece around my big candy pot that is at the moment empty but it won’t be for long. Candy…candy…will be in it soon.

Shown is a picture of some Halloween ornaments Cross stitch I have been working on. The owl, I actually cross stitched years ago. I am going to finish it by going  around the outside with a tatted edge with an owl charm hanging down. I just finished stitching a Prairie Schooler design from the leaflet “Trick or Treat. The tiger kitty is a design from Satsuma Street complete kit. I enjoyed making this design and I will be making more of them. I think their ornaments designs are great. My upside down bat is Batty Boris. He was fun to make also. I have other Just Nan design which are Halloween in theme including Scream House which I have had for years. I really need to do that. It is so cute.

I also think about cross stitch designer Lisa Roswell aka The Primitive Needle who had such a horrible Death. In the cross stitch picture shows the All Hallows’ Eve Sampler , Witches Nine, and another of her designs which was in an OOP cross stitch Special Halloween “Just Cross Stitch” issue. I have others patterns that I bought while Lisa was still with us on the planet I am thinking of doing the design “Moon Witch” maybe next. If you Google “The Primitive Needle” blog you can still  see her other designs. It was decided after Lisa’s death for her designs not to be reprinted so they do go for quite a bit on Etsy and Ebay.
